Bringing understated Scandinavian elegance to the edge of Warsaw’s historic Old Town, PURO Warszawa Stare Miasto is the latest addition to the design-led hotel group’s growing Polish portfolio, and possibly their most considered space yet.
Designed in collaboration with Copenhagen-based GamFratesi — the studio behind The Standard Copenhagen, and the now closed Amass restaurant, also formerly of the Danish capital — the hotel blends soft minimalism with tactile richness, drawing on influences from both Nordic and Japanese traditions. The interiors balance warm Dinesen wood floors, custom-built cabinetry, and panelled ceilings with iconic pieces from the likes of Gubi, &Tradition, Louis Poulsen, Fredericia and Koyori. The effect is calm, quietly luxurious, and distinctly modern.

With 192 rooms overlooking leafy Canaletta Street, the palette reflects the muted tones of artist Canaletto’s 18th-century renderings of Warsaw, creating spaces that feel both timeless and rooted. Soft robes, ceramics by GamFratesi, and Boreal cosmetics further enhance the guest experience.
At street level, PURO’s commitment to community and culture comes alive. A lounge and bakery blend seamlessly into a relaxed open-plan lobby that invites both locals and travellers in equal measures. The hotel’s art programme is thoughtful, showcasing works by Polish artists including Karolina Bielawska, Agata Bogacka and Cyryl Polaczek, as well as a striking relief work by Swedish artist Ferdinand Evaldsson.
Food and drink is centred around MUND, an all-day restaurant, wine bar, bakery and bistro that celebrates Nordic flavours with seasonal ingredients in a relaxed, social atmosphere. A rooftop bar is set to open soon, promising panoramic views across the red roofs and gothic spires of the Old Town.
A neighbourhood hub as much as it is hotel, PURO Warszawa Stare Miasto is a torch bearer for contemporary Polish hospitality.
